2022 has been an exciting time at Hire Space: emerging from the upheaval of the pandemic (where we also kept ourselves pretty busy!), we’ve bounced back to business-as-usual with new ideas and a bigger team than before.
This year has seen the Hire Space team helping find the perfect venues and suppliers for thousands of events. And it hasn’t all been work and no play: along the way we’ve gained some fantastic new team members, had some memorable socials and adventures, and helped to bring hundreds of exceptional events to life.
After a challenging couple of years for the events industry, we’ve been delighted to support on getting events back on track, and we’ve been innovating behind the scenes to make life easier for event planners everywhere. Here’s what we’ve been up to and how it’ll impact our work with clients and venues going forwards.
Here are some of Hire Space’s highlights of 2022
We’ve expanded our Hire Space 360 service
2022 has seen our all-in-one event-sourcing solution for businesses, Hire Space 360, become an integral part of our service, with new partners coming on board throughout the year. Since launching the service in 2021, we’ve helped numerous companies with full scope support on venue and supplier sourcing and event management across their events calendars.
Our Relationship Managers have been kept busy helping our Hire Space 360 clients book events around the world – in fact, this year alone they’ve worked on finding the perfect venue for events in over 20 countries! To stay on the pulse of international event trends, and make connections with the best overseas suppliers, they’ve also recently spent time attending IMEX America in Vegas and IBTM in Barcelona.

And added an expanded event delivery team to the mix
This year also saw Hire Space expanding our Event Delivery department to support companies on event management and on-site delivery globally. With decades of experience under their belts, our fantastic event delivery team are on hand to provide guidance and extra expert hands on everything from event planning to on-the-day management. We’ve been developing instant booking technology – watch this space!
As the events industry moves with the times, we’ve been developing an exciting instant booking service to save event planners time: after all, every eventprof knows that time is money! Look out for our instant venue booking functionality launching across 1000 venues in the new year – and start planning how you’re going to spend all the time you save! ⏰
We hosted several inspiring stages and panels
This year, Hire Space hosted stages at some of the events industry’s top conferences and exhibitions. These events are always a fantastic opportunity to reconnect and get inspired, and this year’s discussions were particularly valuable for resetting after the pandemic, and tapping into the opportunities that lie ahead.
In March, we hosted the Let’s Do London stage at International Confex (and we’ll be back again in 2023 with content topics hot off the event trends press). In June we joined forces with London & Partners to host the London Hub stage at the inaugural edition of Reset Connect, the flagship event for London Climate Action Week, where we shared a stage with some of the real experts and change-makers in the industry and beyond.
We also hosted an event for venue teams, with two expert-led panels covering how venues can work with corporate event planners in 2022 and beyond, and how (and why) to make your venue stand out from the crowd in terms of sustainability. Post-pandemic, we’re keeping our finger firmly on the pulse of booking trends to share insights and make sure the venues we work with are ahead of the curve.
Our team has gone from strength to strength
It’s been a busy year for us outside of the office as well, with lots of team socials to cement our fantastic team culture. We’ve had FAM trips, sports day, our annual Hire Space walk, and Hire Space’s first retreat which saw the team heading to North Macedonia for a few days of getting to know each other better. Most importantly, we’ve welcomed a whole host of new team members since January (and a couple of new humans!), which has made our team an even better place to work!
And sustainability has become a bigger part of our ethos
Sustainability has been important to our company since its beginnings, but this year it’s become a more integral factor, both internally and externally. We set up a sustainability committee in May, and have been working with our sales and venues teams to embed sustainable event practices in our procurement and event planning.
We’ve also partnered with sustainability-focused event organisations and industry bodies to produce a sustainability hub with the goal of making sustainability accessible to more people in the industry. This hub features some really key guides and resources to help eventprofs and venues on their sustainability journey.

What’s next for Hire Space?
As we move into 2023, there’s lots of exciting things in store for the company. From launching our instant booking service, to getting more international venues on board, and growing our team, 2023 looks set to be a seriously busy year for all at Hire Space.
We really appreciate all the faces, familiar and new, who’ve joined us on the journey this year – thanks to all of you, we’re gearing up for an even bigger and better year ahead! After all, there’s no better place to be than the events industry now that doors are open again!
